Administrators control who has directory access by managing usernames and passwords.
To give a new member access to your directory, or help someone who forgot their password:
- Open the member profile
- Type the new username and/or password in the designated field
- Save your changes
- Contact the member and provide their username and password
- Usernames must be unique and not assigned to another member. Usernames are not case sensitive.
- Passwords can be any word or combination of characters. Passwords are case sensitive.
- Members who can edit their profile can change their username/password.
The password field is blind to protect user privacy. Passwords are encrypted with 128-bit encryption algorithms and are never stored or viewed in plain text. Admin cannot see a member’s password, but can reset it.
To take away someone’s access to the directory, simply clear their username field and click Save. Or delete their profile.
